Camden Hills Girls Soccer took on Mt. Ararat on Tuesday, Sept. 22. The Jammers completed the game victorious once again, with an end score of 6-1.

It took longer than usual for the home team to find the back of the net, but Remi Caton, Freshman No. 3, solved the problem with a beautiful long shot, soaring past the opponents keeper. To close out the first half, Senior Captain No. 7 Thea Laukka took a corner kick, and Sophomore Captain No. 5 Liv Domareki was able to get behind it to end the first half 2-0. 

With a break, and a major pep talk from Coach Meredith Messer, the Jammers returned to the field, and gave their all for the remaining 40 minutes. To add two more goals to the board, Junior captains Molly Williams, No. 10, and Eve Domareki, No. 13, both earned penalty kicks and fired them in with ease. 

With the score at 4-0, Liv Domareki found the space forward where Molly Williams ran onto the ball, and sneakily got the ball through the goalkeeper's legs. The Mt. Ararat Eagles found the way through the Jammers once, and made the score 5-1, with not many minutes left. After several seconds of chaos in the box and many shots, Sophomore No. 17 Elsa Schwalm pummeled the ball in the goal, to end the scoring for the game.

The JV Jammers also had a wonderful game, with the final score of 3-1 in favor of the Windjammers. Freshman No. 19 Katalina Kriste opened up the game with a long run resulting in a goal. Following, Ily Darling, Freshman No. 12, slammed the ball into the back of the net to earn a goal for her team. Later on, Freshman No. 28, Kaida Nguyen did not fail to give Camden Hills two more stunning goals. 

The strong defense of both Jammers teams only allowed one goal in each game, and had an outstanding game of strict tackles, and easily shutting the Eagles attack down. It was a very successful win for the home teams, and showcased much grit and physicality throughout the entirety. 

Camden Hills is currently in first place with six wins, and no losses. The Windjammers will play next on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Mt. Blue High School in Farmington. Make the drive to see the outstanding play of these talented teams.
