"AI is the talk of the town!" said Belfast Senior College, in a news release. "But what exactly is it? How can you make use of it? How can you protect yourself from it? Is AI as dangerous as some say?"

Presenter Doug Chamberlin will explore all those questions, offering a first look at the state of AI today from the average person's perspective. The presentation, co-sponsored in partnership with the Belfast Free Library, is free and open to the public, held Monday, Nov. 9, from 4 - 5:30 p.m., at the Belfast Free Library, in the Abbott Room.

"Prepare to be surprised," said BSC.

Chamberlin spent his career pursuing the appropriate use of technology. As a software developer, systems analyst, and database designer, over 40 years he observed both inappropriate deployments and appropriate use. He wonders if we have gotten better at this. Today, Chamberlin helps Belfast Senior College with its technical challenges and shares his knowledge by teaching tech courses.
