UMaine Extension hosts online discussion on building successful flower farms
Event Date
Tuesday, November 10, 2026 - 06:00 pm to 07:15 pm
University of Maine Cooperative Extension will host an online panel discussion for current and aspiring flower farmers on Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 6 - 7:15 p.m. The discussion will focus on how to build a flower farming business that is resilient, rewarding and sustainable.
“Building a Resilient Flower Farming Business” will feature experienced flower farmers Lee Cline of Fox Hollow Flowers, Linda D'Arco of Ampersand Bulb, and Mary Turner of Salt Farm Flowers, along with Ping Yu, assistant professor and ornamental specialist at the University of Georgia.
Panelists will share practical strategies for adapting to a changing industry; finding the right customers and sales niche; avoiding burnout; and building a business that reflects goals and values. Participants will come away with ideas for balancing profitability with personal well-being and making informed decisions about the opportunities and challenges of flower farming, according to the Extension, in a news release.
The webinar is part of UMaine Extension’s Commercial Horticulture Webinar Series.
Registration is required; sliding scale fee options are available. Register on the event webpage to attend live or receive the recording link.
