Camden Hills boys soccer tops Bangor

ROCKPORT — Camden Hills went down a goal early before rallying three times to earn some valuable heal points, defeating Bangor 3-1.

Kristian Kendall opened the scoring for Bangor midway through the first half when he volleyed a corner kick into the side netting.

The 'Jammers kept their composure and responded in kind when Cam Brown blasted a ball into the roof of the net shortly after. Camden Hills would grab the momentum after the score and constant pressure on the goal resulted in freshman Jasper Hackett's first varsity goal (assisted by Quinn Riordan) to put the 'Jammers up 2-1 just before half-time.

The second half was a back and forth affair until Charlie Pons drew pressure from several Bangor defenders just outside the penalty box and unselfishly slid a ball to Roan-Aldridge Peacock who slammed home the insurance goal to put the game out of reach at 3-1.

Brian Leonard played well in the goal for Camden Hills making several quality saves to preserve the win.

Today was a huge win against a quality opponent. Bangor is going to be a top four or five team at the end of the season and they showed how dangerous and organized they could be today.

It was great to see our team respond positively to being down a goal and we did fairly well to execute our game plan for the day. We continue to play some good team defense and our possession game is getting better each time out.

Our bye week is this week so it will be a nice opportunity to reset before going to Hampden on Friday.
