Belfast Museum exhibits ‘The Jennie Flood Kreger - Celebrating 100 Years’

    BELFAST — The Belfast Museum opens for the season on Saturday, June 8. It’s featured exhibit this summer is “The Jennie Flood Kreger - Celebrating 100 Years.”

    It was on March 5, 1919 that Belfast launched the largest and only 5-masted ship to fill the needs of post World War I maritime shipping. Her story is told through photographs and first-person accounts.

    Other exhibits include maritime history, Capt. Albert W. Stevens, Perry’s Nut House, the William O. Poor apothecary bench and the 1864 Civil War flag quilt.

    In the barn are the old two-cell jail from City Hall, a horse-drawn funeral carriage, and old Belfast business signs.

    A children’s “Be A Detective” museum activity is available.

    The Museum is located at 10 Market Street, corner of Market and Church streets.

    Summer hours are Tuesday – Saturday, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

    September 7 – October 12, Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
