KNOX — Basil P. Wentworth, 89 of Knox, passed away peacefully at his home on October 12, 2021.

He was born December 1, 1931, in Knox, Maine the son of Lloyd and Zenaide (Grant) Wentworth.

Basil graduated from Morse Memorial School in Brooks, Maine. He entered the US Air Force and after serving for 4 years, he continued his education at the University of Maine Orono. He had a long professional career with the Farmers Home Administration and then retired to his beloved family farm in Knox.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Leah Stearns Wentworth; his children and their spouses: Lisha Wentworth and Phil McCarthy, John P. and Rhonda Wentworth, Melissa Wentworth; and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Zenaide Wentworth; and his four siblings: Charlotte, Malcolm, Lloyd, and James.
