Annual Camden Native Plant Sale returns Sept. 14
The annual Camden Native Plant Sale and Celebration will return to Camden amphitheatre Sunday, Sept. 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event features sustainably-grown native plants from local vendors in the harborside Camden Amphitheatre. This event is put on by Wild Ones Midcoast Maine in partnership with Camden Public Library. Rain date is Sunday, September 28.
Volunteers are needed. If interested, email camdennativeplants@gmail.com
There will be shopping from local native plant nurseries, educational booths with various organizations; conversations with native plant growers and garden experts; two speakers; music; kids activities, and more.
"This is a great opportunity to learn more about native plants and incorporate them into your own garden and yard," said Wild Ones.
Speakers include:
10 a.m. “Ask an Expert: Choosing the right Native Plants for My Yard” with Pete Beckford
12 noon: “My Garden Transition to Safely Grown Native Plants” with Jonathan Cohen
Kids’ activities will be provided by Adventure Yards. Explore, climb, and create. The nature play zone right in the middle of the Amphitheatre is made for little adventurers to have supervised fun while adults shop for plants.
This event is made possible by Wild Ones Midcoast Maine, Camden Public Library, and generous in-kind sponsors including Zoot Coffee.
