UNION — The 2019 Union Fair / Maine Wild Blueberry Festival poster winner is Stan Silva of Union. Silva received $500 for his winning entry.

Originally from Pacific Grove, California, Silva moved to Maine in 1985 with his wife and opened a small sign shop in the barn of their 1803 house.

Over the years he has worked in the mediums of wood, steel and copper as a sculptor as well as having created many graphic art designs and signs.

Now retired, Silva enjoys reading about area history and working on various restoration projects.

He loves to spend time with his children and grandchildren, and is a active member of the People’s United Methodist Church in Union.

This years Union Fair/Maine Wild Blueberry Festival will take place at the Union Fairgrounds just off of RTE. 17, Saturday, August 17 through Saturday, August 24.
