Rockland public skating rink a mere freeze away

ROCKLAND – Look for City-authorized public skating at Rockland’s Chickawaukie Lake before the end of winter, according to Rockland City Manager Tom Luttrell. Public Works has been given the go-ahead to clear the ice for use as an outdoor rink.
“There’s been a lot of chatter with all of this cold weather,” Luttrell said during the Jan. 8 Rockland City Council meeting. “Wouldn’t it be great to have a public skating rink?”
The answer, Luttrell said, was that a skating rink already existed. Chickawaukie Lake.
“Stay tuned,” he said. “We will be having skating in Rockland, hopefully.”
