Waldo County Triad, YMCA are beneficiaries of athenahealth's successes

BELFAST — The Belfast office of athenahealth last week named two Waldo County organizations as recipients of grant monies through its athenaGives program, created as part of the company's "commitment to enrich community health."
The athenaGives program donates a portion of quarterly profits, and is a 100-percent employee-led giving program with staff nominating and voting on the benefiting charitable organizations. Recent athenahealth employee nominations were comprised of organizations from all over the U.S. and abroad, and three $10,000 grants were awarded. Two of the grants went to Midcoast Maine organizations,: Triad of Waldo County Soap Closet and the Waldo County YMCA.
"At athenahealth, we work at a fast pace, driven by a passion for social good," said Cedar Pruitt, senior manager of Corporate Citizenship at athenahealth. "athenaGives is another way to enrich community health while honoring the charitable passions of athenistas."
On hand in Belfast at athenahealth for the award presentations were Todd Haedrich, vice president of Enrollment Services at athenahealth; nominators Cynthia Dalton and Deborah Hockensmith; Deborah Mitchell, Ruth Beebe and Sharon Walsh of Triad of Waldo County Soap Closet (Juliette Baker was not able to be present); and Dale Cross and Sue Lapham of Waldo County YMCA.
