K2 Country Showcase delights crowd in Camden parking lot

CAMDEN — The weather held and the Reny’s Plaza parking lot, at 33 Elm St., filled with people as quickly as it filled with cars. K2 Music held its second Country Music Showcase to the delight of the performers, as well as the crowd, on the evening of Aug.
Harvey Curtis, co-owner of K2 Music along with Mac Economy, said he couldn’t have been happier with the weather and the turn out.
“Customers and friends, it’s a great night,” he said. “We kind of have the backbone of country music in Maine. It’s a great way to bring the community out. A lot of people were here around 4:30 p.m. getting good seats and ready to go. Mac and I really are having a lot of fun doing this.”
The house band, so to speak included, Fred “Tommy” Thompson, Ginny Palmer, Chris Fyfe and Phil Clement.
Performances were turned in by Russ Spera, Tim Hill, Holly Clough, Rosey Gerry and the Rt. 17 Ramblers, Gene Kirkpatrick, Joanna Pinkham, David Dean, Scott Harrison and Loring Proctor.
Admission was free. Attendees were urged to bring their own lawn chairs and dancing shoes. Scott’s Place stayed open late for food and beverages during the concert.
