Waldoboro Police beat: Thefts, operating under the infuence, arrests, accidents
WALDOBORO - Waldoboro police responded to 286 calls for service from Dec. 22-Jan. 6. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
Dec. 23
Officer Larry Hesseltine is investigating a report from a resident that she is receiving harassing phone calls.
Dec. 24
Officer Andrew Santheson investigated an accident on Washington Road at 11:11 p.m. Issac Timberlake, 20, of Union, was driving a 2016 Ford sedan. He was traveling north on Washington Road while three deer were crossing the road. Timberlake tried to stop, but struck the last deer causing damage to the vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Dec. 25
Officer Chris Spear investigated a report from a resident of an unwanted subject at her residence. Subject was found and warned.
Spear investigated a report from a resident that she is being harassed. The subject was found and warned.
Dec. 26
Tony Thurman, 48, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Spear for disorderly conduct and loud unreasonable noise.
Dec. 27
Victor Peters, 21, of Warren, was arrested by Spear for criminal mischief and criminal trespass.
Spear is investigating the theft of a television from Bullwinkle’s Restaurant.
Dec. 28
Officer Jeffery Fuller is investigating a report from a resident of the theft of metal (copper wiring, metal water registers) from a house she owns.
Fuller is investigating a report from a resident that someone is cutting wood on his property.
Fuller is investigating a $14.50 gasoline drive off from the Big Apple.
Dec. 29
Officer John Lash investigated an accident on Depot Street at 5:30 a.m. Sarah Callan, 25, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2003 Volkswagon sedan. She was traveling north on Depot Street and missed the curve in roadway because of slippery conditions, went off the road and down an embankment. The driver’s side curtain airbag deployed. No injuries were reported.
Hesseltine is investigating a report from a resident that people are trespassing on his land and making threats.
Hesseltine is investigating a report from a resident that she had approximately $75 worth of property stolen from her residence.
Dec. 30
Hesseltine is investigating a report from a resident that her husband is being threatened by neighbors.
Hesseltine is investigating a report from a resident of the theft of studded snow tires and some wood.
Dec. 31
Hesseltine is investigating a report from a resident of unwanted subjects. Subjects were gone on arrival.
Jessica Alexander, 39, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Hesseltine on a warrant.
Anthony Winchenbach, 33, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Hesseltine for a violation of conditional release.
Jan. 3
Lash investigated an accident on the Washington Road at 12:51 a.m. Eric Spooner, 40, of Anson, was driving a 2000 Mazda sedan. He was traveling south on Washington Road. The operator fell asleep at the wheel due to intoxication, went off the road to the right and struck a tree. No injuries were reported.
Eric Spooner, 40, of Anson, was arrested by Lash for operating under the influence.
Fuller is investigating a report from a resident of the theft of a 1981 Bobcat Skid-Steer valued at $8000.
Jan. 4
Christopher Carlson, 37, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Chief William Labombarde on a warrant.
