Waldoboro Police beat: Domestic violence assaults, telephone harassment, vehicle hitting deer
WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 223 calls for service from Nov. 23-30. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
Nov. 23
Officer Larry Hesseltine is investigating a report from a resident of telephone harassment.
Nov. 24
Hesseltine investigated an accident on Atlantic Highway at 2:15 p.m. Christine Savage, 84, of Union, was driving a 2011 Subaru sedan. David Vinal, 61, of Warren, was driving a 2004 Toyota sedan. Savage’s vehicle was starting in traffic from Manktown Road and failed to yield right of way to Vinal’s vehicle that was traveling westbound on Atlantic Highway. No injuries were reported.
Hesseltine is investigating a report from a resident that he is receiving harassing phone calls.
Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated an accident on the Washington Road at 5:38 p.m. Linda Poli, 50, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2008 Mercury utility vehicle. Poli was traveling north on Washington Road, a deer crossed the roadway in front of the vehicle from the left side. She struck the deer. No injuries were reported.
Hesseltine investigated an accident on Wagner Bridge road at 6:30 p.m. Amanda
Napier, 27, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2001 Subaru sedan. Napier was parked legally and her vehicle sustained damage when an unknown vehicle hit her and left the scene.
Nov. 25
Hesseltine is investigating a report from a resident who reports she is being harassed. The subject was found and warned on harassment.
Nov. 26
Officer John Lash investigated an accident on Bremen Road at 5:02 a.m. Shawn Day, 22, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2003 GMC pickup truck. Day was traveling south on Bremen Road, fell asleep, went off the road on the right, hit a culvert, jumped a driveway and came to rest in a ditch, after taking out some mailboxes. No injuries were reported.
Christopher Sabien, 23, of Friendship, was arrested by Lash for domestic violence assault and criminal mischief.
Nov. 27
Officer Jeffery Fuller is investigating a report from a resident that she is being harassed.
Gabriel Spradlin, 32, of Edgecomb, was arrested by Officer Andrew Santheson for domestic violence assault.
Nov. 28
Eugene Edgecomb, 44, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Hesseltine for disorderly conduct.
Fuller is investigating a $20 gasoline drive off from the Big Apple.
Fuller is investigating a report from a resident of damage done to her mailbox.
Fuller is investigating a report from a resident that she is being harassed. The subject was found and warned on harassment.
Fuller is investigating a report from a resident that criminal mischief was done to his mailbox.
Nov. 29
Fuller is investigating a $45 gasoline drive off from the Big Apple.
