Maritime Energy golf tournament raises more than $12,000 for cancer causes
ROCKPORT — Samoset Resort in Rockport was the setting for 21st annual Maritime Energy Golf Tournament, which was held June 3. At the conclusion of the tournament, which also serves as a fundraiser, Maritime Energy announced it raised a total of $12,540 through generous donations, registrations and sponsorships of the tournament.
All funds raised from the tournament will stay in the state of Maine and is directed to the Maine Cancer Foundation for cancer research, and also to Maritime Energy’s Energy 4 Life program, which is used to assist employees and local families who are dealing with cancer.
Tournament organizers gave a special “thank you” to the golf committee and Maritime Energy employees who volunteered for the tournament, including Angie Matero, Michelle Benner, Amy Mank, Joan Raven, Chris Collins, Steve Cornforth, Jeff Marcotte, Jenni Berube, Kelly Richardson, Charon Curtis, Sarah Seavey, Charlie Page, Tim Matero and Chris Seavey. Organizers also recognized and thanked the sponsors and players, and said they look forward to another successful tournament next year.
