Timothy Fogg, obituary
ROCKPORT — Timothy John Fogg, 59, beloved husband and father, unexpectedly passed away April 22, 2014, in Rockport.
Born Dec. 25, 1954, in Camden, he enjoyed an all-American boyhood of the 1950s and 1960s, growing up on Summer Street in Rockland with his best friend, David Crudell. He was a certified glazier, a skilled carpenter and a mechanic.
Tim was predeceased by his father, Neil Augustus Fogg Jr., who tragically drowned in Lake Chickawaukie Sept. 7, 1964; and his mother, Betty Lucille (Burridge) Fogg on Feb. 1, 2014. Tim's paternal grandfather, Dr. Neil Augustus Fogg was a surgeon in Rockland and husband to Doris (Perry) Fogg. Dr. Fogg was the son of Dr. Winthrop C. Fogg of Freeport, an apothecary who raised Tim's second great uncle, Donald B. MacMillan, an Arctic explorer who participated in the expedition to discover the North Pole with Admiral Robert Peary. MacMillan designed, commissioned and sailed the schooner Bowdoin for many years. It was Tim's deep pride in his heritage of great men that shaped the path he walked through this wonderful life.
Tim is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janet (Snowdeal) Fogg. He loved her with an immense and noble honor. Theirs was an enduring love, unbreakable by time and space, which lives on through the sense of adventure and hard work that he was proud to instill in their four children and six grandsons. His legacy lives on through N. Abraham and Erin (Graham) Fogg and their sons, Macyn, Myles and Maxwell, of Liberty, Tori J. (Fogg) Stewart and her husband, Jeffrey, and sons, Jackson and Talon, of Yarmouth, Timothy J. Fogg II and his wife, Nicole Watts, and their son, Aidan, of Rockland, and Tyler E. Fogg and his even-better half, Kate Latta, of Rockport. Also surviving are Tim's brother, Robert W. Fogg of Palermo; his sister, Priscilla F. Parvanta of Winthrop; many nieces and nephews; an uncle, Donald W. Fogg of Rockland; and his surrogate father, Harold D. Bisset of Rockland, who in Tim's teenage years and throughout his life gave him the gift of fatherly love and guidance; and a sister of the heart, Jennifer Bisset Simmons of Cushing.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to an entire community of family and friends for their love and support in Tim's life and in this difficult time of his death.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St. in Rockland. A private interment will follow at Achorn Cemetery.
