Dawn Sprague, obituary with service information
ROCKLAND — Dawn E. Sprague, 63, died unexpectedly Feb. 10, 2014, at her home in Rockland.
Born in Rockland Jan. 27, 1951, she was the daughter of John Sr. and Pauline Munroe Ward. Dawn was educated in Rockland Schools.
A caregiver at heart, Dawn spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was a caring individual, always doing things for other people. Her daughter said she never missed a birthday or holiday.
She loved watching TV, and was a faithful Days of Our Lives fan. Old movies, especially ones with John Wayne, were also favorites. She took great pride in decorating her home, especially during the holidays.
Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and her loving nature was extended to anyone she took in as a “grandchild.” Her daughters said Dawn was always thinking of others, even in the midst of her own struggles. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Predeceased by her mother; and a brother, Steven Ward; Dawn is survived by her daughters, Heather Anne Sprague and her companion, Jon Robishaw, of Cushing, and Karen Sprague of Rockland; her brothers, Johnny Rae Ward of New Hampshire and David Ward of Rockland; her sister, Joyce Anne Simmons; and three grandchildren, Shawn Sprague, Cheyenne Robishaw and Jonathan Robishaw, all of Cushing.
A celebration of her life, with a potluck dinner, will be held Sunday, March 2, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Thomaston American Legion, 37 Star St. in Thomaston.
Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home in Rockland.
