Beverly Nichols, obituary
ROCKLAND — Beverly D. (LaCombe) Harrison Nichols, 59, peacefully entered into the arms of her Lord Feb. 21, 2014, at Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast, after a period of declining health.
Born at Knox Hospital in Rockland Oct. 16, 1954, she was the daughter of Lester H. and Catherine M. Nystrom LaCombe. She attended Rockland High School and received her GED diploma through Georges Valley High School in Thomaston.
On Dec. 21, 2002 she married Gerald P. Nichols, making their home in Rockland for the past 12 years.
She was very gifted in singing and enjoyed sharing her love for her Lord through music and song within a family quartet traveling the state of Maine. She also had a great love for children and worked many years at her church's family camp daycare. Beverly was most recently looking forward to the birth of her second grandchild.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Harrison, in 1983; her mother, in 2014; her father, in 2010; and her nephew, Clinton Graves in 2000. She is survived by her husband, Gerald; her daughter, Jessica M. Harrison and her fiancé, Terry Russ, of Topsham; her son, Lonnie Harrison; her grandson, Isaiah Thomas Murphy; her siblings and their spouses, the Rev. Lester (Joe) and Polly LaCombe of Thomaston, Eneeda and Arthur Peirce of Brunswick, the Rev. Samuel and Ann LaCombe of Windham, Robert LaCombe of Rockland, the Revs. Charles and Lisa LaCombe of Thomaston, Mary and Mark Wiebe of Rockland, and John and Wanda LaCombe of Thomaston; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends and relatives are invited to celebrate her life Friday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St. in Rockland.
