Frank A. Erickson, obituary
ROCKLAND — Frank A. Erickson, 50, died at his home Feb. 22, 2014, after a period of declining health.
Born in Camden May 3, 1963, he was the son of Allen F. and Albertress A. Sedgewick Erickson. While growing up in Rockland, he attended local schools and Rockland District High School.
Frank's first employment was with his father, refinishing and refurbishing antiques. He later worked with his uncle, Reynold Brooks, doing property maintenance and repair. From 1988 until being disabled in 1991, Frank worked as a custodian with Maine School Administrative District No. 5.
He enjoyed cooking, working on his computer and was a fan of the Boston Bruins and Red Sox.
Frank held a special place in his heart for a nephew, Wayne Richardson, who resided with Frank for a time.
He also enjoyed a lifelong friendship with Lawrence Tardiff, and the two often referred to one another as their 'kemosabe'.
Other than his parents, Frank was predeceased by a step-daughter, Andrea Lea Farrell in 2007; and a sister, Elizabeth Erickson. He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet R. Gamage Farrell Erickson; a step-son, Thomas J. Farrell and his companion, Jess Winchenbach, of Rockland; one brother, Stephen P. Erickson and his wife, Donna, of South Thomaston; four sisters, Nancy A. Maddocks of Monroe, Ellen F. Richardson and her companion, Ray Collins, of Owls Head, Alana “Sue” Beaupre and her husband, Stephen, of Warren, and Muriel E. Erickson and her companion, Russell Brown, of Rockland; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his faithful companion, Bandit.
A graveside service at Achorn Cemetery in Rockland will be announced in the spring by Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home.
