Adeline Colby, obituary
BELFAST — Adeline P. Colby, 72, of Belfast passed away Jan. 2, 2014, at her residence. She was born in Belfast April 1, 1941, a daughter of the late Dorothy A. Pomeroy.
Adeline worked for 20-plus years at Stinson Seafood, as well as at Penobscot Frozen Foods and Little River Apparel. She enjoyed bingo and poker with her family, crocheting and was an active Pocahontas, with a degree of Past Great Pocahontas. Adeline loved traveling and attending yard sales and candy making with her granddaughter.
Adeline was predeceased by her brother, Addison Pomeroy; and a son, Norman Colby II; as well as her great-grandson, Ethan Walk Zuck.
She is survived by her children, Brenda Cilley of Belfast, Jeffrey Colby and his companion, Geri Brooks, of Brewer, Tina Grotton and her husband, Wayne, of Belfast, and Brandon Colby and his wife, Nannette, of Belfast; 20 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her aunt, Phyllis Blake and her husband, Scott, of Searsport; and her uncle, Charles Knowlton and wife, Marie, of Belfast.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 11, at 11 a.m. at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave. in Belfast.
