Marjorie Gersbach, obituary
GLEN COVE — Marjorie Mary Gersbach, 78, wife of Frederick R. Gersbach, died Oct. 10, 2013, at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport after a brief illness. Born in Dorcester, Mass., Oct. 31, 1934, she was the daughter of William John and Marjorie Mae (Smith) McQuaid and was a 1952 graduate of Waltham High School in Waltham, Mass.
On Jan. 31, 1964, she married Frederick R. Gersbach in Salem, N.H. For many years they lived in Danville, N.H., while Marjorie worked for GTE Sylvania in Waltham, Mass., and raised their three daughters.
In 1986, they moved to Glen Cove, where they enjoyed their retirement years. Marjorie worked for Dr. Kevin Olehnik, a local orthopedic surgeon. She also spent time with her grandchildren, reading and working on the computer.
Surviving is her husband of 49 years, Frederick R. Gersbach of Glen Cove; three daughters, Hydie Richards of Lenoir, N.H., Tamra Connor and her husband, Michael, of Bellingham, Mass., and Kathleen Foley of Peabody, Mass.; two grandchildren, Joshua Richards and Sydney Faye Connor; a great-grandson, Mason Lee Richards; and a brother, William James McQuaid of Newburyport, Mass.
In keeping with her wishes there are no public services planned. Interment will be private at held at the convenience of the family.
