James B. 'Woody' Wood, obituary
ST. GEORGE — James B. “Woody” Wood, 60, died unexpectedly at his home Sept. 6, 2013.
Born in Rockland Aug. 25, 1953, he was the son of Donald R. and Lucienne D. Cote Wood. While growing up in the Wildcat area of St. George, he attended local schools and was a 1971 graduate of Georges Valley High School in Thomaston.
For about 10 years, Woody drove a truck for Atwood Lobster Company. He later worked as a fish cutter with North Atlantic Seafood in Rockland, and then as a sternman aboard various lobster boats out of Tenants Harbor. Most recently, he worked on the dock at Cozy Harbor Lobster, formerly Art's Lobster, in Tenants Harbor.
Woody enjoyed building scale model boats. An ardent history buff, he could quote facts, statistics and events on all of the wars throughout history.
Woody is survived by his brother, William “Bill” Wood of St. George; and a special friend, Laurel Taylor of Owls Head.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a graveside service Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 1 p.m. at North Parish Cemetery, Willy's Corner, in St. George. The Rev. Wayne Sawyer will officiate.
