Vote yes on Pine Tree Power. Let's keep Maine dollars in Maine
According to the Maine Beacon, Central Maine Power's profit for the second quarter of 2022 was $40.5 million. On an annual basis, that's $162,000,000, and that works out to an average of $248 for every CMP customer.
And where does all that money go?
Well, CMP is owned by Iberdola, a Spanish company, and those profits come out of the pockets of Mainers and go into the pockets of Iberdola's investors. And that's why CMP and Iberdola are flooding the airwaves and our mailboxes with ads: they want us to keep generating profits for them.
With a Pine Tree Power consumer-owned utility that $162,000,000 would stay right here in Maine where it belongs. So if you want to see your hard-earned money stay here in Maine, vote yes on ballot referendum 3. Vote yes on Pine Tree Power. Let's keep Maine dollars in Maine!
