CAMDEN — Bernice Heath King Redman, 93, died July 3, 2013, at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport. Born in Little Deer Isle Sept. 13, 1919, she was the daughter of Ernest and Edna (Hardy) Heath. She was a life-long resident of Camden and a graduate of Camden High School.

On Nov. 24, 1937, Bernice married Charles B. King. Charles died on the USS Ticonderoga while serving in World War II. She later married James Redman on Oct. 27, 1946.

In earlier years Bernice worked at the Smiling Cow gift shop and the Tweed Shop women's clothing, both in Camden. Her last job before retirement was as supervisor at Bonnar Vawter in Rockland.

Bernice was an avid reader. In later years she found great enjoyment in planting her perennial gardens. She always had a great love of her many cats and dogs, especially her most recent companion, a black and white cat named Bobbi.

Bernice was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Rockland.

Surviving is her sister, Winnie Snow of Camden; her nieces, Bernice Snow Ianacone and her husband, Bruce, of Clifton, Va., and Elizabeth Snow of Rockport; her nephews, Dwight F. Snow and his wife, Kathy, of Lincolnville, Bradford E. Snow of Coopers Mills and Dustin Cram and his wife, Ruthann, of Sidney; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Mrs. Redman was predeceased by her former husbands, Charles King and James Redman, who died in 1986; and a sister, Lucille Cram.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Mountain View Cemetery in Camden. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to: Camden Rockport Animal Rescue League, P.O. Box 368, Camden, ME 04843.
