Medomak 7th girls top Oceanside, earn second win

WALDOBORO — The seventh grade girls basketball teams from Medomak and Oceanside met on the court Thursday, Jan. 13 in Waldoboro.
The host Riverhawks earned their second win of the season with a 35-28 victory over the visiting Mariners.
Oceanside held a narrow 8-6 advantage after the first quarter before Medomak held a 18-15 lead at the half.
At the end of the third quarter, the hosts possessed a slim 23-21 advantage.
Scoring for Medomak were Paige Gerlack (12 points), Sidney Nicholls (five), Rachel Barbour (three), Grace Havener (seven), Molly Emerson (four), Brooke McNelly (two) and Lilly Hill (two).
Scoring for Oceanside were Abby Stackpole (six points), Charlotte Quinn (four), Gracie Mackie (11) and Abby Reed (seven).
