Five Towns Adult Ed summer classes, experiences
Five Town Adult Ed has submitted the following:
For the second summer, Five Town Adult Ed is offering a small selection of summer classes.
While a few were featured in the recent spring-summer brochure, we have added a few new ones and have also moved a few canceled this spring to our summer session. Several of these classes are available to be taken remotely, while others are done in person with all safety precautions in place.
Among the in-class offerings are: Spanish for Beginners; Sewcialize Open Quilting; Moving Beyond Fear; Three Minutes a Day Can Change Your Life – a Simple, Effective Spiritual Practice; Natural Sleep and Relaxation with Essential Oils; Sewing 101; Making Cloth Masks; iPhone Basics; and two cooking classes – What to do with Your Produce Bounty or CSA Share, and Chilled Summer Soups and Cold Sides. Four classes will be offered only remotely – Medicare 101, Intro to Drawing, Edible and Medicinal Mushrooms, and DIY Nature Camp for Parents and Summer Caregivers. The Middle Eastern Dance class can be taken both in person and via Zoom. All these classes will be held between July 6 and July 30.
We are also offering some outdoor activities, including Plein Air Painting at the Farm, and two hikes with naturalist and Maine Guide Gary Roberts – Hiking Beech Hill and Hiking Borestone Mountain. Our outdoor classes are all being held in August.
In addition to our enrichment classes, we continue to offer high school diploma and college and adult transitions tutoring and support all summer long, both remotely and in person as needed. We are in the office most days but can also receive phone and email messages from home. If you would like to contact us, call 236-7800, option 5, or you can email us at adulted@fivetowns.net.
More information on these classes is available on our website, fivetowns.maineadulted.org, where you will also find our Covid-19 Protocols.
