THOMASTON — Several students were recognized for the attribute of Friendship at an assembly on Tuesday, February 11, at Thomaston Grammar School.

An unknown author wrote the following: “Good friends are like stars. You don’t see them, but you know they’re always there for you.”

The students who were recognized are true friends because they listen and support others. They are selfless and make time for peers no matter the situation, big or small. They give a helping hand with projects or are there to be a listening ear when someone is upset. They are the ones to talk to when something is bothering a peer because they give good calming advice. They look out for others, wanting them to do their best, and they are excited when others excel.

Nina Shepard was also presented with the Principal’s Award. Nina has made tremendous gains during her journey here at Thomaston Grammar School. Her positive attitude and perseverance have helped her to be a
successful, contributing member of the Thomaston Grammar school community.

“Nina might think she flies under the radar, but we definitely see her and the wonderful accomplishments she has made,” said TGS, in a news release.

She regularly, quietly does the right thing, the kind thing, without being reminded or asked to do so. She is trustworthy and loyal.

“She genuinely cares about the well-being of her classmates and the staff here at TGS,” said the School.

Several other students were also recognized for their participation in the Trekkers Big Trek/Little Trek mentoring program.

Congratulations to all the students who received awards this month!
