Hope girls basketball tops Lincolnville in northern division title game

HOPE — The top-seeded Hope and third-seeded Lincolnville middle school girls basketball teams met on the hardwood in Hope for a Busline League small school northern division championship game Thursday, Jan. 30. 

Hope maintained quarterly leads of 12-6, 26-8 and 42-14 en route to a 50-20 victory. 

Scoring for Lincolnville were Jaden Johnson (six points), Grace Moody (six), Abby Strout (two), Chloe Day-Lynch (two), Maren Johnson (two) and Natalie Bolduc (two).

Scoring for Hope were Rose Tohanczyn (14 points), Georgia Heintzman (eight), Kirsten Jones (six), Leah Snyder (six), Maddy Tohanczyn (six), Grace Westbrook (four), Sierra Laukka (four), Leah Jones (two) and Thea Laukka (two).

Hope advances to the league’s small school championship game Saturday, Feb. 1 against the winner of the southern division championship.
