Earl Macom, obituary

MORRILL — Earl Martin Macom, 75, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2019, with his wife, Becky, by his side.

He is survived by his wife, and two sons, Earl who lives in California, and John, who lives in Cambodia.

He was predeceased by his parents, Pansy Coleman and Clarence Macom, and siblings Eli, Verlia, and John.

He grew up in Poplar, Missouri, before moving to Brockton, Mass., then Northport, Maine. He served in the Navy for four years before entering the Merchant Marines for forty-four years before retiring.

He was a Mason and a very hard worker. He loved his family and friends. He loved to tell stories about growing up with his brothers and learning how to ride motorcycles, hunt and fish.

He enjoyed teaching his boys to ride bikes and to drive cars. He loved his boys beyond words and always made it home for those special events. He enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends. He loved to read western novels and playing cards with friends and family.

He was a very caring man with a big heart. He was always willing to give a hand to others in need.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A celebration of his life will be held in the spring.
