Wiscasset intersection improvements in process

WISCASSET — The Maine Department of Transportation is making improvements to three intersections along Route 1 in Wiscasset. This work will improve safety and traffic flow, according to MDOT, in a news release.
The project areas are at the intersections of Route 1 and Old Ferry Road (Route 144), Old Bath Road, and Birch Point Road.
Two-way traffic will be maintained during daytime hours.
The contractor on this project is Pratt & Sons of Mechanic Falls. The contract amount is $1,937,245.
“Our anticipated completion date for this work is October 21,” said MDOT.
