Windjammer boys lacrosse team bounces back for home opener win












ROCKPORT – The Camden Hills boys lacrosse team hosted Lincoln Academy Tuesday in their home season opener and after falling behind 4-0 early the Windjammers rebounded to take a 10-8 win over the Eagles on Don Palmer Field.
The Windjammers had played Monday in Gardiner in a make up game from the previous week where they lost 14-1. Now falling behind in the season 18-1 something clicked for the Windjammers and they were right back in the hunt.
Camden Hills goes to 1-1 on the season while Lincoln Academy falls to 0-1 with a game against Winthrop not yet played.
Scoring for Camden Hills were, Parker Lawson with three goals; Jonah Cameron, Marshall Spear and Jack Orne two each; and Cyrus Demmans one. Nik Marren and Grayson Szmulias had one assist each.
For Lincoln Academy, Ben Stone had four goals; Jake Millet two; and Jonathan Riley and Caleb Farrin had one each. Millet added three assists and Riley and Stone one each.
Clark Thomas was in goal for Camden Hills and he had eight saves on 16 shots from the Eagles. Jacob Stevens was between the pipes for the Eagles where he had 23 saves on 33 shots.
Camden Hills will host Maranacook/Winthrop Friday, April 19 at 1 p.m.
