ROCKPORT — William “Bill” Hartman, 76, died Friday, January 15, 2021 at his home with his beloved wife at his side.

Bill was a hard worker his entire life, was a proud graduate of Penn State and had a lifelong love of sports. He had a special affinity for the Nittany Lions Football team. His love of track and field took him to several Olympic destinations to follow the sport.

He had a love of travel that afforded him the joy of seeing all seven continents. He often spoke of the inspiration he derived from each place he visited. Although he did not speak of it often, Bill was proud to have honorably served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.

Active in his community, Bill was a proud member of the West Bay Rotary, serving on the board and as Past President.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Maureen O’Donnell of Rockport; his sister-in-law, Jan O’Donnell of Winter Park, Florida; his nephews, Johnny O’Donnell and his wife Wendy, Danny O’Donnell and his wife Johanna,
Jimmy O’Donnell and his wife Sally, Timothy O’Donnell and his fiancée Esther Johnson; as well as seven great-nephews; and one great-niece.

He was predeceased by his parents, William and Marguerite Moore Hartman.

In keeping with his wishes, Bill’s family will be remembering his life privately. He will be laid to rest at a later date in Florida.
