VINALHAVEN — The school schedule at Vinalhaven School for Friday, Jan. 24 will be altered as the school will be operating on a two-hour delayed start. 

The cause of the delayed start is a water main break inside the school, according to a late Thursday evening Facebook post from the school. There is presently no running water within the school. 

The school has been in contact with Maine Water, which will begin working on resolving the issue early Friday morning. 

As of now, classes are slated to start at 10 a.m. though the school will notify parents around 9 a.m. if classes need to be canceled for the day.
