Waldo County’s fifth graders recently had the opportunity to see what could await them if they chose to attend Waldo County Technical Center as high school students.  WCTC hosted fifth grade students from Searsport, Belfast Mount View and Drinkwater Elementary schools. Another visit from RSU 3 outlying elementary schools is planned for later this school year.  

Students visiting WCTC were given a  tour of the Tech Center and each child was able to visit two programs of their choice, spending about 30 minutes in each classroom.  This exposure to Career and Technical Education is the first time most of these students have visited Waldo County Technical Center.  

Fifth graders from Waldo County have been visiting WCTC for several years and are able to revisit the school as they make their way through middle and high school, with The Amazing Race, TECHsploration and other outreach programs aimed at educating students and the community about the benefits and opportunities available with career and  technical education.
