The following information was shared March 14 from the Vinalhaven School administration team. 

• Monday 3/16 will be an EARLY RELEASE DAY - Students dismiss at Noon. Staff work afternoon planning for possible future remote learning days

• Tuesday 3/17 will be an EARLY RELEASE DAY - Students dismiss at Noon. Staff work afternoon planning for possible future remote learning days

• MEA Testing begins next week for grades 3-8. Maine DOE requires these tests for all students, and is working to extend the testing windows in case we need it due to absences.

• Cancellations - All school assemblies, concerts, theatrical productions, and large-group events will be postponed until further notice, as well as all student and staff trips for off island learning such as field trips and class trips.

• Spring Sports - The MPA has moved the start date of all spring sports until April 27 with all games and athletic events postponed until mid-May. 

• LIMIT of Visitors to Schools - All community activities and events using school facilities are cancelled until April 27th to minimize non-student or staff traffic so that our disinfecting can have maximum effect.
