Three indie bands on Strand Theatre stage, March 14
Event Date
Saturday, March 14, 2026 - 07:30 pmNew England Triple Stack, a collaborative live lineup bringing together three standout acts from across the region, will take the Strand Theatre stage on Saturday, March 14, at 7:30 p.m. Performing will be New Hampshire indie-folk's Sneaky Miles, New Hampshire indie-rock's Jon Nolan & Good Co, and Maine’s The Speed of Sound, led by Midcoast legend Spencer Albee.
"Blending heartfelt songwriting, high-energy rock, and seasoned New England roots, Triple Stack will deliver a dynamic, genre-spanning show that highlights the depth and camaraderie of the Northeast music scene," said the Strand, in a news release.
The Strand provides the following band descriptions:
SNEAKY MILES
Sneaky Miles, an indie folk band formed in 2019 as a trio—Kevin O’Brien, Patrick Fitzgibbons, and Jake Gagne—has since expanded their live sound by teaming up with additional members on drums, bass, and pedal steel. Sneaky Miles has quickly become a local powerhouse in the New Hampshire Seacoast music scene with their high-energy performances that blend heartfelt storytelling with driving folk-rock arrangements.
Their latest album, “Cowboys, Songbirds, and Other Tales of Sorrow” (2024), showcases the band’s growth both sonically and lyrically, cementing their place in the modern indie folk landscape. Sneaky Miles delivers a sound rooted in community, connection, and cathartic live shows.
Sneaky Miles has shared the stage with The Backseat Lovers, Trampled by Turtles, Coyote Island, Dr. Dog, Will Evans, Wheatus, Rayland Baxter, Wild Rivers, and The Deslondes. Notable performances include Borderland Festival (2025) and Leavitt Festival (2025).
JOHN NOLAN & GOOD COMPANY
Jon Nolan is a New England songwriter and founding member of Americana stalwarts Say ZuZu. With his latest project, "Slow Cooker," Nolan turned inward—crafting vivid, lived-in songs about small-town moments, connection, and the quiet beauty of everyday life. Backed by his band, Jon Nolan & Good Co., he blends folk warmth, pop shimmer, and country grit into something timeless and inviting. The result feels less like a performance and more like an open door.
THE SPEED OF SOUND
The Speed of Sound is a brand-new Maine-based band that blends sharp musicianship, melodic sensibilities, and a love of timeless songwriting. Fronted by Spencer Albee on lead vocals, vintage keyboards, and rhythm guitar, the group features Zachary Bence (lead guitar, background vocals), Owen Markowitz (drums, background vocals), and Caleb Sweet (bass, background vocals).
Albee’s career has spanned international tours, multiple major recording and publishing contracts, and collaborations with icons like David Bowie, Amy Allen, De La Soul, John Stirratt (Wilco, The Autumn Defense), Louisa Stancioff, and The Ghost of Paul Revere. Guitarist Zachary Bence, a William Paterson University jazz alum, has recorded with a range of acclaimed artists including Griffin William Sherry and Louisa Stancioff. Drummer Owen Markowitz draws on a rich background in jazz and improvisation. Bassist Caleb Sweet, a Berklee College of Music graduate, is a seasoned road musician after touring with The Wolff Sisters, Chris Ross and The North, and more over the past decade.
The Speed of Sound is an indie band with a hankering for Wonder, Hendrix, Little Feat, McCartney, The Meters, Hancock, Bowie, Zevon, 90s hip hop, and Detroit-era Motown.
