THOMASTON — On Friday, January 3, several students at Thomaston Grammar School were recognized for the attribute of acceptance. Students were presented with a certificate at a school-wide assembly and will have lunch with the school principal early next month.

Acceptance is a part of our upbringing and our experiences, according to TGS, in a news release. The students who were recognized show a maturity of character to have the quality and the ability to accept the differences and diversity of others. They maintain their own identities and positive behaviors. They treat others with respect, take the time to listen to opinions and ideas, and are good and active listeners. These students take the time to get to know another person without judging someone by a first impression.

Kloe Maldonado was also awarded the Principal’s Award. Kloe is an excellent student, classmate, and friend. Kloe always has a smile on her face and kindness in her heart. Her positive attitude inspires those around her to be positive too. She is safe and kind and tries her best every single day without being reminded to do so. Those things come naturally to her.

She is respectful, responsible, trustworthy, and honest. She cares about the thoughts and feelings of others, whether it be her fellow students or staff members who work with her. She is an excellent partner and team member.

Congratulations to all the TGS students who received awards this month!
