Theodore A. Jones, Jr., 65, died on October 8, 2026 with his sister by his side at Maine Coast Hospital in Ellsworth. Ted was born May 5, 1961 in Camden to Theodore A. Jones, Sr. and Lois Sweat Jones. Ted was a fun, loving man and had resided at Yesterday’s Children in Ellsworth since 2003.

Ted lived at home in Washington until he was 21 years old, went into a foster home for 15 years, and then lived with his sister, Janet, and her husband Hoyt until he had a stroke. He moved and loved living at Birchwood Living Center, part of Yesterday’s Children.

He had a good life, he loved his family and friends.

He was predeceased by his mother, who died in 1992 and by his father, who died in 2016. 

He is survived by a brother, Ralph Jones and his companion Kathy of Montville; sister and guardian caregiver, Janet Emery and her husband Hoyt of Washington; nephews, Ralph Jones and his wife Robyn and their children Annie and Ralph, and Dustin and his wife Audrey Woodworth and their son Corey; nieces, Jessie and her husband Jeff Dodge and their children Frankie and Joey, Jen Richard and her husband Adam, Kaylee Duffy and her companion Lily Randi Moore and her husband Bert and their children Aubri and Alex, Jill Chandler and her children Dylan, Trevor, Alison; several aunts and uncles. Ted loved all of them very much. He will be missed.

The family wants to thank all of the staff and caregivers that he loved at BLC in Ellsworth.

A service to celebrate Ted’s life will be held on October 19, at 2 p.m., at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main Street, Waldoboro. Burial will be in the Skidmore Cemetery in Washington.
