Thank you, local businesses
On behalf of Adas Yoshuron Synagogue, I’d like to thank local businesses, farmers, and organizations who contributed to making the 34th Christmas Day Community Dinner a roaring success.
Served at Rockland’s St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, in Rockland, and prepared by Chef Melissa Kelly of Primo and her staff, over 100 guests enjoyed the ambience, music, and food.
Additionally, over 150 take-out meals were sent home, and food was also delivered to the PenBay ER, Stella Maris Housing, Homeworthy, and the Belfast Soup Kitchen.
Thank you, Chef Kelly, and your amazing team. It was a thrill to see you work your magic.
Thank you, Lions Club, of Camden, for your generous donation.
Thank you, John Barnstein, of Mainely Poultry, for donating hundreds of pounds of turkey.
Thank you to Chase’s Daily, the Belfast Co-op, Fresh Off the Farm, Villageside Farm, Second Frost Farm, North Branch Farm, Ararat Farm, and Cross Patch Farm for the beautiful vegetables.
Thank you to Guini Ridge Farm, Plants Unlimited, Seasons Downeast, and Holmes Greenhouse for the plants and greenery.
Thank you to Fred Ribeck of Ribeck Design for the Christmas poster.
Thank you to the Atlantic Baking Company for the gorgeous bread and desserts. Thank you, Rock City Coffee and Hannaford, Rockland for your donations.
Thank you to all the volunteers from the synagogue community and beyond who picked up donations, set up, served, packed meals, and cleaned up. It is truly a team effort!
The community came together to make a mitzvah (Hebrew for good deed). We can do remarkable things together.
With gratitude,
Linda Garson Smith, of Belfast, is a Yoshuron Community Meal Coordinator
