Thad Fairman Grotton Jr., obituary
ROCKLAND — Thad Fairman Grotton Jr., 78, passed away after long standing health issues on December 7, 2025.
Carpenter, bartender, loving father, and ladies man.
RETIRED.
Loved gardening, working with his hands, being with his family, and his precious dog, Wiggles. He enjoyed most westerns/cowboys, Murder She Wrote, and Stargate SG-1. Thad was also a big fan of good food, socializing with friends, and a cozy nap in the middle of the day. His day could be well spent looking through a quiet antique store or sitting by the water while eating with his daughter Elizabeth.
Thad is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Grotton of Rockland, Heather Grotton-Emerson of Waldoboro, Alex Grotton of Union; a son, Jack Grant of Rockland; grandchildren, Rowen Grotton, Raven Grotton, Rory Grotton, Nick Emerson, and Dale Emerson; and his brothers, Patrick Grotton and Roy Grotton.
He is never forgotten and remembered fondly. His family said he happily thought of joining his daughter Catherine in the clouds.
