Tam Snyder, obituary

MONROE — Tam Snyder, 85, of Monroe, passed on Monday morning, October 8, 2018 at Togus Springs VA Hospice Unit, with his daughter by his side.

Tam was born in the mountains of North Carolina and grew up in Chester County, Pennsylvania before moving to Maine in the fifties after serving on the front lines in Korea from 1953 to 1955.  He was a talented carpenter who built and remodeled many homes in Waldo County over his time here, (including his own, from the ground up just 10 years ago) but was best known for his talent and passion for hunting.  He loved the woods and was registered as a Master Maine Guide for 50 years, working many years as a black bear guide. 

He is predeceased by his daughter Vickie, son Keith, and wife Linda, as well as his parents, John Earl and Venton and sister, Juanita Johnson of Toughkenomen, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his daughters Lisa Snyder-Hendrix of San Antonio, Texas; and Tammy Snyder Maseychik of Northport, Maine as well as Keith’s son, Zayne Snyder of Maine and Texas.
