Supporting Jordan Wood for Maine Senate
I watched the predictable ‘drama’ play out in Washington two weeks ago. Senator Collins, chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, happily voted “Yes” to advance the “Big Beautiful” bill to the Senate floor; she could have stopped this abhorrent bill with that vote.
After making that critical “Yes” vote to bring the vote to the floor, she has gone on to make a big show about voting against the bill in the full Senate when she knew it would pass. Making her look like a “moderate,” something she’s not.
She knew this ““Big Beautiful” bill would cut Mainecare, leave more Mainers hungry, and make our state scramble to cover major budget shortfalls. The bill also undermines Clean Energy initiatives.
Senator Collins has played this game so many times that I wonder who she thinks she is fooling. I am fed up with the theatre and that is why I’m supporting Jordan Wood for Senate.
Jordan will meet Mainers where we are. I saw him at a town hall, and he has pledged to hold town halls in all 16 counties each year he is a senator. This is in stark contrast to Susan Collins who has not held a Town Hall in more than 25 years!
Jordan has the courage to vote against his party not only when it is politically expedient to do so but even when under pressure from the party. Maine needs someone who won’t play games but gets to work - and that is Jordan Wood.
