Steven Brown benefit concert in Searsmont
Event Date
Sunday, April 12, 2026 - 03:00 pmSearsmont Town Library Director Steven Brown will be performing a free concert at Searsmont United Methodist Church (the Village Church) on Sunday, April 12, at 3 p.m. There will be a free will donation jar to benefit Waldo County Bounty and Brown will have just mouse CDs for sale.
This concert will feature Brown's original songs (the music of just mouse) and some classical repertoire.
"just mouse's music exemplifies musical diversity with hints and ventures into many genres," said a news release.
Singing with a deep, lyrical voice and accompanying himself on acoustic and electric guitar, a just mouse concert has been referred to as "the most eclectic show you will ever know," according to a news release.
"just mouse's songs invoke the living past and the tender realities of the planet's present in a close and personal manner," said the release.
Brown is a trained singer who put away operatic aspirations and rock 'n roll destiny to move to Maine, grow good food, and, apparently, "direct" a rural library with a big heart, according to the release. He continues to write original music and record at home. A new album of music entitled Honouring the Sacred is growing.
