AUGUSTA — Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap, Maine's top election official, has released the final results of the Democratic primary for the office of Governor and the Democratic nomination for the Representative to Congress in Congressional District 2.

Janet Mills is declared the winner of the Democratic primary for the office of Governor, with 63,384 votes in the final round, or 54.06% of the votes.

Jared F. Golden is declared the winner of the Democratic primary for the office of Representative to Congress in Congressional District 2, with 23,611 votes in the final round, or 54.32% of the votes.

Initial results released during the tabulation process on Wednesday, June 20 were not yet finalized. Elections officials have now incorporated all the manually entered ballots for this final tabulation, which the tabulation program was unable to integrate that evening due to formatting issues. These ballots include all those that could not be read by the digital scanner, such as those that were photocopied in municipalities that ran out of ballots and those that were torn or otherwise damaged.

These round-by-round results are now posted on the Bureau of Corporations, Elections and Commissions Election Results page. As always, official results for all primary races and the Referendum Election will be available and posted 20 days after the election (July 2, 2018).
