PORTLAND — Sea Bags, designers and manufacturers of handmade items from recycled sails, will be hosting a ribbon cutting event on Friday, June 29, 2018, at 3 p.m. at its first store in Rockland. City staff and elected officials and representatives from Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce and Rockland Main Street Inc. will be present to help welcome Sea Bags to the Rockland community.

Sea Bags is located at 371 Main Street and will be open year-round. Rockland is a fitting location for Sea Bags as sailing is a large part of the town's heritage and is home to an impressive windjammer fleet.

Sea Bags has regionally relevant designs that are featured at their Rockland store. These designs include the Rockland Coastal Retreat bucket bag, wristlet, and wine bag as well as the
Penobscot Bay Nautical Chart tote, wristlet, handbag, wine bag, bucket bag, toiletry bag and placemats.

The Rockland location also features the three designs included in the Sea Bags & Down East Day Tripper Tote Design Contest. Customers can see these unique designs up close and vote for their favorite one in the store!

Sea Bags products are also available online at www.seabags.com and at their 15 other retail stores located throughout the East Coast.
