Schooner Bay Motor Inn hosts Penobscot Bay Chamber of Commerce volunteers
ROCKPORT — Scott Perry, owner of Schooner Bay Motor Inn welcomed the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce volunteers to an open house and tour of his 23-room inn earlier this month. Perry purchased the property in June of 2014 and has been making upgrades and renovations since then.
Schooner Bay Motor is located at 337 Commercial Street in Rockport.
In addition to room remodels, some of the recent updates include a new lobby area and a sunny breakfast room/common area offering fresh homemade pastries, muffins, cereals, fruits, and beverages, all included in the cost of the stay. Other amenities at the Inn include a walking path, picnic area, campfire and BBQ, which is available for guest use.
Perry said in the news release: "Schooner Bay Motor Inn combines a hotel like privacy with a bed and breakfast feel. We like to give guests as much privacy that they would like, however, we very much enjoy speaking with each guest. We make suggestions on where to go and what to see and we try to customize their itinerary based upon their needs.
Volunteers and staff of the PBRCC were invited as part of the volunteer program as a way to get familiar with some of the member businesses in the chamber. The chamber visitor center offices in Rockland and Camden are visited by tens of thousands of tourists each year and the volunteers are busy making daily referrals.
