Tue, 02/14/2023 - 10:30pm

Food in crisis areas was the focus of Satellite of West Bay Rotary recent fundraising, Red Carpet Trivia, February 11, at the Samoset in Rockport to support World Central Kitchen.

First place went to the Rockland Rotary team; second and third were Camden Lions and Camden Law.

The Satellite Club held its first trivia event in January 2020, “So You Think You Know Maine?” at the Camden Snow Bowl.

This year, approximately 60 individuals on 10 teams answered almost 50 tough questions concerning movies, actors and other topics related to films.

There were players from West Bay, Rockland, Camden and Belfast rotaries, as well as Allen Insurance and Financial, Camden Lions Club, and more.

The event was made possible through generous support from the Samoset Resort, Allen Insurance and Financial, Camden Lions Club and Roberta and Gary Walker of West Bay Rotary.

Prizes were donated by CIFF/Points North, Strand Theatre, Satellite chair Sarah Ruef-Lindquist, Ducktrap Seafood, Inn at Ocean’s Edge and there were awards for costumes as well as the top three scoring teams. Emcee SweeT Tom Chester, past president of West Bay Rotary, facilitated and entertained the group.
