Sandy Point Community Club hosts Pie Palooza Dinner, July 12
The Sandy Point Community Club will hold its annual Pie Palooza Dinner, Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., in the lower-level event room of the Stockton Springs Municipal Building, 217 Main Street, Stockton Springs, Maine. Entry is by donation and all are welcome. In addition to the meal, tickets will be available for a chance-raffle for donated items on display.
"This year’s Pie Palooza is an important step on the long fund-raising journey to pull together the monies needed to restore and renovate the faithful, old Sandy Point Community Club building (originally called Griffin Hall) which has been standing along the side of US Route One in Maine since 1840," said Sandy Point Community Club, in a news release. "As of this date, things are shaping up nicely in the kitchen with new stairs in place to the basement and second floor. Also roughed in are some relocated kitchen walls, a pantry space and an accessible bathroom. Another exciting item is a brand new emergency exit that is now fully installed. As we continue to raise funds, more advances will be coming. (Just imagine efficient plumbing, updated electrical wiring and a new floor and cabinets!)
The Sandy Point Community Club was first created in 1924 with its original purpose being to offer activities to encourage closer relationships among seasonal summer folk and year-round residents in the area. Events hosted by the Club are open to all, and no membership is required. This organization has been serving the community for 100 years. The current activities of the Club are still aimed at bringing people together and in recent years events have included public suppers, open mic evenings and hosting performances by well-known musical artists.
"Come learn about the plans for future building renovations, this organization and its heritage in this area, and enjoy a sociable dinner of delectable savory and sweet pies," said the club.
