ROCKPORT — The Rockport Public Library hosted a 5K run/walk race event Saturday, June 25 with perfect weather as a fundraiser for the Friends of the Rockport Public Library, a volunteer group who helps support the library.

The race started in Rockport Village right in front of the library and traveled along the coast offering ocean views. 

Shawn Rumery finished first overall with a time of 19:18 while Siena Scordino was the first female finisher with a time of 20:40.

“Both incredibly fast times on a course with so many hills,” said race organizers.
