Ronald I. Creamer Sr., obituary
WASHINGTON — Ronald I. Creamer Sr., 78, passed away peacefully July 28, 2015, at home, after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of Alice Creamer for 28 years.
Ronald was born Oct. 18, 1936, to Florence and Elmer Creamer.
He was a graduate of Union High School and the University of Maine in Orono with a bachelor degree in administration. After many years he retired from the State of Maine Tax Examiner Division. He also managed a group home for Spurwick and worked a winter in Florida for the Baltimore Orioles Minor League. Ron was the first president of the Hill and Gully Riders Snowmobile Club in 1972. He was a member of the Evening Star Grange 183, Mt. Olivet Lodge of Masons of Washington 203 and the Elks Lodge of Rockland 1008.
Ron was an avid deer and turkey hunter. He loved fishing at his favorite spot, which was Moosehead Lake. He taught all his children and grandchildren to hunt and fish. He loved golfing with his grandsons and was very competitive. He enjoyed cribbage and going to the slots.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Creamer; his brother, Earl Creamer and his wife, Patricia; his children, Deborah Johnston and her husband, Tom, Susanne Taylor and her husband, Ron, Ronald Creamer Jr. and his wife, Theresa, and Laurie Stephenson and her husband, Randy; his stepdaughter, Sunday Sabien; his stepson, Daniel Sabien; and his companion, Angela Lovell.
He had many nieces, nephews and grandchildren: Susie Cookie, Kevin Taylor, Jessica Goodwin, Jennifer Creamer, Forrest Flagg, Christopher Taylor, Ronald Creamer III and Tyler Sabien; and great-grandchildren, Clayton, Billy, Emma, Nicholas and Rufus.
Ron was predeceased by his stepson, Darren Sabien; his sisters: Mildred Griffin, Blanche Wilson, Phyllis Daniels and Hazel Rood; and parents, Elmer and Florence Creamer.
He will be missed by his dog, Simon, who was either on his lap or two steps behind him at all times.
A celebration of life for Ron will be held Saturday, Aug. 15, at 3 p.m. at the Liberty Community Building. A potluck supper will follow.
