VINALHAVEN — Roger Allen Feltis, 28, of Vinalhaven, Maine went to be with the lord on the evening of Sunday, June 14th, 2020.

He was born on June 3, 1992 in Damariscotta, Maine.

Roger was most at peace on the ocean, whether for work as a fisherman or pleasure, it was his second home. He also had a soft spot for the woods, and any version of the great outdoors. Roger was well known for his hilarious shenanigans, often regarded as the life of the party. He made friends wherever he went, due to his great sense of humor, and his strong work ethic. Roger was known to be a pro at turning a wrench, a skill he honed by replacing rear-ends after doing so many burnouts. His record was 27 rear-ends in one year.

Roger’s two greatest loves however, were his girlfriend Jennie; and his daughter, Paige. He will be missed by his family, many friends, and the communities where he had resided.

He will be missed by his father, Lester and Clarissa Feltis of Waldoboro; and his mother, Ivy LaChapelle and Chuck Stewart of Canaan.

He leaves behind the two loves of his life, his daughter, Paige Feltis of Thomaston, and girlfriend, Jennie Candage of Vinalhaven; his siblings, Timothy and Ashley Feltis of Waldoboro, Brandon Feltis of Waldoboro, Adam Feltis of Orono, Marina Feltis of Waldoboro, and Blake Feltis of Waldoboro; and nephew, Isaiah Feltis of Waldoboro; grandparents, Robert and Jean Morton of Sangerville and Margaret and Randy Brown of Waldoboro; great grandmother, Eva Sibley of Burlington; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many more who were considered family and friends.

He will be watching over us with his grandfathers, Roger Feltis and David LaChapelle; his uncle Bub (Ralph) Boyington; and best friend Ian Sandborn.

There will be a small gathering of family and close friends for a celebration of life in Waldoboro on Sunday June 28, from 12 - 4 p.m.

A larger celebration for everyone will take place on the weekend of July 11, weather permitting, to bring Roger to his final resting place.

Rogers' family has set up a donations page on Facebook under “Justice for Roger Feltis.” All funds will be placed in a trust for Roger’s 4-year-old daughter, Paige.
